The silver plated hilt fittings are in fine condition and the pommel is professionally engraved with the original owner initials SD ( or he was an SS officer serving with the SD), The black wooden grip is in mint condition and it is complete with officers bronze police eagle and swastika badge. The plated blade is in mint condition and it is maker marked, Herm Rath Solingen and it is also deeply stamped with the SS runes Kulturezeichen mark, the blade is complete with leather blade buffer pad. Complete with black painted scabbard with matching silver fittings, the original black paint is in excellent condition just showing age as you would expect. SS marked police swords are difficult to find and this one is extra nice as it is personalised. Exc++
