THIRD REICH K98 COMBAT BAYONET PERSONALISED WITH STAG HORN GRIP PLATES.
This is a very unusual example of a Third Reich K98 combat bayonet, the original owner has personalised it by fitting it with a set of fine quality stag horn grip plates, the hilt metal fittings were also silver plated at the same time probably so it can be worn on parade or with walking out dress, it now looks very similar to a pioneer model parade bayonet. The reverse side of the pommel has a waffen amp stamp. The high quality stag horn grip plates have been expertly fitted and are held in place by two metal pins. The high quality plated blade is stamped, E U F HORSTER and also 9412. Black anodised scabbard is in fine condition and it is stamped, 1661 HOLLER 1937, it is mismatched like they often are but it appears to have been together for a long time. Complete with black leather frog fitted with grip retaining strap. Exc++
