LARGE THIRD REICH BRONZE FIGURE OF THE VICTOR.

This very impressive bronze figure is know as, Der Seiger or The Victor and it depicts a German Nordic looking soldier wearing WW1 style German helmet. The original figure was produced in 1916 and was double life size, it was presented to the Prussian war Academy in 1916, the figure became a very popular design during the Third Reich and this is when this example dates from, probably produced about 1940. The figure sits on a marble base and measures 28cm in total height. The bronze bust is signed on the side by the artist, E.P.ZIMET. A very impressive and attractive bronze bust and also rather heavy.
