NSDAP LARGE SIZE 30MM GOLD PARTY BADGE BELONGING TO AN SS OFFICER.

NSDAP LARGE SIZE 30MM GOLD PARTY BADGE BELONGING TO AN SS OFFICER.

This superb 30mm example originally belonged to SS Obersturmfuhrer Ewald Meiwurm and comes complete with large research folder of documents to include an excellent photograph of this SS officer in black Allgemine SS uniform actually wearing this badge. The enamel to the badge is in perfect condition, the oak leaf wreath still retains almost all of it's original gilt finish. The reverse side of the badge features the scarce military style pin and hook, the badge is also stamped GES GESCH in a box, below this is the owners NSDAP membership number 13211. SS Obersturfuhrer Edwald Meiwurm was born in 1887, he served in the German army during WW1 and was awarded several awards to include the Iron cross and wound badge. He joined the NSDAP soon after it was reformed on the 7.8.1925 and received NSDAP membership number 13211, he was also an early member of the SS receiving SS membership number 1889, he was promoted to officer rank of SS Untersturmfuhrer on the 20.4.1934 and was assigned to the 58th SS Standarte (Regiment). On the 9.11.35 he was promoted to SS Obersturmfuhrer. In 1936 he was awarded the SS Honor Ring. I am sure that there is a lot more to discover about this interesting SS officer. Complete with the badge is about 50 photocopy documents concerning this SS officer and also as stated above a very good photograph of the SS Untersturmfuhrer on his wedding day wearing full black SS uniform with his SS dagger and proudly wearing his gold party badge on his tunic.[Condition: Near Mint]

RAD OFFICRS DAGGER BY WUSTHOF WITH LEATHER HANGERS.

RAD OFFICRS DAGGER BY WUSTHOF WITH LEATHER HANGERS.

This is a really nice early quality dagger. The silver finish to the highly detailed birds head hilt is still all remaining and with excellent detail to the crossguard RAD swastika insignia, this is a really nice hilt. The white grip plates are in fine condition and fit very nicely in place. Near mint blade, the obverse side features the RAD motto and the reverse side the makers details, ED WUSTHOF SOLINGEN, above this is etched Ges Gesch and a triangle with the letters, RADJ. The matching silver scabbard is in fine condition still retaining all the silver platting and with no dents or other damage. Complete with a very nice set of brown leather RAD hangers. SS 12 YEAR SERVICE MEDAL WITH LETTER OF PROVINANCE FROM REICHSCHANCELLORY.

SS 12 YEAR SERVICE MEDAL WITH LETTER OF PROVINANCE FROM REICHSCHANCELLORY.

This is an exceptional example of the SS 12 year long service medal, the medal is formed as a large silver static swastika with SS runes to the center within a wreath. The reverse side of the medal has the inscription, FUR TREUEDIENSTE IN DER SS, the medal retains almost all of it's original silver frosting. Complete with original blue silk ribbon with silver bullion runes, often these ribbons are missing and are now impossible to locate, so this is an especially nice example as it is still remaining. Complete with this SS medal is letter of provenance which is actually written on sheet of Adolf Hitler's Reichchancellory note paper, the letter states, THE ACCOMPANYING NAZI SS MEDAL WAS TAKEN BY THE WRITER FROM ADOLF HITLER'S OFFICE IN THE REICHSCHANCELLORY IN BERLIN ON JULY FOURTH 1945, it is signed by a Charles May of Radio productions (obviously he worked with Allied Radio propaganda). The medal ribbon was originally stapled to the letter and then folded, sealed and then sent home to Mays home. The SS 12 year service medal is considerably rarer than a knights cross, especially when complete with correct SS runic ribbon and in my opinion much more desirable. A superb set. SS 1936 MODEL CHAINED LEADERS DAGGER.

SS 1936 MODEL CHAINED LEADERS DAGGER.

This is an extremely nice early example produced in solid nickel silver from the original production of 1936, latter examples were produced in silver plated base metal and these are far easier to find than these early quality examples, I am often being asked for these early examples but I seldom have any available. The fine quality black ebony grip is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks and it is complete with the SS runic badge and silver eagle. Early nickel silver hilt fittings are in fine condition. The blade is mint, the obverse side features the SS motto and the reverse side is plain with out makers name which is totally correct for the 36 model. The scabbard still retains at least 95% of the original black paint just showing slight age which you would expect, the fittings are produced in matching nickel silver, the center band is decorated with six linked swastikas and held in place by a single metal screw. The matching chain is the so called 2nd type, the links features SS runes and skulls and these still retain most of the original factory blacking, the reverse side of the chain features the SS runic acceptance stamp. This is an extremely nice SS officers dagger coming from a well established collection based in England.[Condition: Exc++]

GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS DAGGER BY EICKHORN WITH RARE SMALL KNOT AND HANGERS.

GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS DAGGER BY EICKHORN WITH RARE SMALL KNOT AND HANGERS.

This is a superb complete set in beautiful condition, the Eickhorn version of the Government Officials dagger is far harder to find than the Alcoso model and it is much higher quality, I probably see at least five Alcoso's to every single Eickhorn. Beautiful highly detailed silver eagle head hilt, all silver platting is still remaining. The screw fitting in the pommel is still very crisp, I have no intention of removing it to inspect the inside of the dagger as the two holes are so easily damaged. The mother of pearl grip plates are in perfect condition. The highly detailed crossguard eagle has the high upturned wings a characteristic of the Eickhorn pattern, the eagle and swastika are highly detailed. The blade features the Eickhorn 1935 / 41 trade mark to the obverse side, the blade has a few minor speckle marks from age but it is still close to near mint condition. The matching silver scabbard is in beautiful condition with no dents or damage and with all platting remaining. The dagger is complete with the very rare Government official's tiny silver knot which has a very thin cord and a tiny acorn, it is in perfect condition and is probably the best example I have owned as they often suffer with fraying but not this example, it is just in superb condition. The hangers are the early style with silver brocade on blue velvet backing, the buckles and clips are in silver metal. A beautiful looking set, it has been some years since I have had an Eickhorn example to offer for sale.[Condition: Near Mint]

PRESENTATION NAVAL DAGGER BY WKC BELONGING TO U.BOAT KAPITAN HELMUT KURRER.

PRESENTATION NAVAL DAGGER BY WKC BELONGING TO U.BOAT KAPITAN HELMUT KURRER.

Mint orange grip, the hilt fittings retain almost all original gilt finish with excellent detail to the eagle and swastika pommel. Very usual double etched blade by WKC Solingen, the obverse and reverse side's are double etched in decorative panels with the dolphin & fouled anchor design, the reverse side of the blade is also beautifully factory etched in Gothic lettering with the U-Boat identification, U189, the blade shows some very faint spotting mainly to the tip but this is still an extremely nice blade. The WKC hammered scabbard is also in superb condition which is still in full gilt, the reverse side of the scabbard is beautifully engraved in Gothic script with the owners name, Helmut Kurrer. The dagger is complete with it's original gold knot. Apparently this dagger turned up many years ago in Germany with other items belonging to this U-Boat Captain, the collection was split and dispersed to collectors around the world. Korvettenkapitan Helmut Kurrer was born on the 16.2.1916 in Eisleben, he joined the German navy in the 1930's, promoted to Leutnant in 1934, Oberleutnant in 1939, Kapitanleutnant in 1942 and Korvettenkapitan in 1943, his early service seems to be with Naval destroyers but in 1942 he was transferred to the U-Boat command and after initial training he was assigned on the 15.8.1942 to U.189 as the captain of this U-boat, the boat then took up training operations until the end of March 1943, on the 1st of April 1943 the U-Boat took up active service with the 2nd U-Boat Flotilla, the U-Boat was sunk on the 23rd of April in the North Atlantic by a RAF Liberator flown by Flight Officer Moffat, Helmut Kurrer and most of the crew escaped the destroyed U.boat and the British high command was informed of this but refused to help the crew and so unfortunately they perished, Moffat received the DFC for this action. An historically important dagger, this is the only dagger I have owned or even seen in over 30 years that can be documented to a U-Boat Captain. Complete with research file.[Condition: Exc++]
