This wartime and very nice aluminium example with excellent detail to the Luftwaffe eagle, the award was instituted in June 1942. The reverse side is fitted with pin and hook. THIRD REICH IRON CROSS 1ST CLASS, RARE SCREW BACK MAKER MARKED EXAMPLE.
The cross is in fine condition with all black paint remaining and it has a nice high swastika and the frame has a nice age patina as it has never been cleaned. NSKK METAL EAGLE.
This is the metal eagle that would have been originally attached to the top of the pole of an NSKK vehicle car pennant. Very attractive and high quality silver eagle with the NSKK organisation letters above. Mounted on a latter wooden plinth for display, it would also make a very nice paper weight. This dagger was originally a 1st model naval dagger but in 1938 it was up-dated by changing the ball pommel to the new style eagle pommel. White celluloid grip is in perfect condition. The hilt fitting retain about 90% original silver plating with excellent detail to red cross eagle and swastika to the crossguard. The black celluloid grip plates are in mint condition. The blade is plain and it is also not maker marked, it has a few age marks but no damage, naval daggers with plain blades are actually harder find then etched blades.
