LUFTWAFFE DAGGER 37 MODEL BY WKC WITH RED GRIP,COMPLETE WITH HANGERS & KNOT.

LUFTWAFFE DAGGER 37 MODEL BY WKC WITH RED GRIP,COMPLETE WITH HANGERS & KNOT.

This interesting example has the darkest coloured grip I have ever encountered on a luftwaffe dagger, a very attractive blood red. The high quality hilt fittings are in excellent condition and have a nice age patina as the dagger has not been cleaned in a very long time. The grip is perfect and as stated above the colour is a very attractive dark red, the celluloid has darkened over time, it is interesting to note that under the knot cord it is a slightly lighter colour which is probably closer to the original colour.Near mint blade by WKC. The excellent condition scabbard still retains much original factory bluing. Complete with deluxe hangers and silver knot. The last photograph in the photographic set is just for a colour comparison with a standard luftwaffe orange grip and it is not included in the price with this dagger. A very nice un-touched set that has not been in a collection before. [Condition: Exc++]

The blade features the SS motto to the obverse side, the reverse side features the makers trade mark, Gottlieb Hammesfahr Solingen, the blade has not been cleaned and has some original finish, it does show some minor scratch marks but they are old and not detrimental, this is a nice blade.
