This is the model bayonet often described as the butcher bayonet because of the huge sawback blade. Blue steel hilt with waffen amp stamp to the reverse side of the pommel, the crossgurd reverse side is stamped 48 which is probably an issue number. This desk set comprises iron green painted standish with built in pen tray and mounted with two glass inkwells with hinged lids. Fitted to the top of the ink stand is a large WW1 field gun.
